Is post-installed rebar good for dynamic loading like train loading?

Hi we plan to use Re500 post installed rebar for a buried small wall that doweled into existing track slab, the loading on the wall will be train load, shear and tension, is there capacity reduction comparing with static loading? Thanks. Emily

Hi Emily,

There are currently no test standards for dynamic loading of post-installed anchors in North America. However, if the application is for anchor theory, simplified methods have been developed in Europe to support the evaluation of an anchor's resistance to fatigue; specifically adhesive anchoring systems such as Hilti's HIT-RE 500 V3 and HIT-HY 200 A/R V3 used with threaded rods. Please keep in mind that these studies and tests were not performed in North America. Please e-mail us at CA.EngineeringTechnicalServices@hilti.com for more information.
